Software Engineer, L3

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Develop new features and functionalities for Twilio Segment’s Data platform/pipelines team.

• Create and implement robust, high-scale routing solutions for Data Pipelines.

• Manage always-available, intricate distributed systems within cloud environments.

• Collaborate with design, product, and engineering teams to create solutions that balance usability, performance, and architecture.

• Articulate technical decisions, trade-offs, customer impact, and team alignment.

• Guide junior engineers and contribute to technical excellence and ongoing learning.

• Engage in on-call rotation, troubleshoot reliability challenges, and enhance operational tools and processes.

• Occasionally travel for project or team meetings in person.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Practical experience with high-scale messaging/streaming systems and processing engines (handling several thousand events per second).

• 5-7 years of experience writing production-quality code in a modern programming language.

• Proficient programming skills in Go, Java, Python, or other similar object-oriented languages.

• Experience in operating large-scale, distributed systems utilizing cloud infrastructure.

• Familiarity with shipping services (products) following the CI/CD development paradigm.

• Strong understanding of software engineering principles and how to design scalable and extensive systems.

• Utilize best-in-class development productivity practices, including AI tools.

• Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and operational excellence skills.
