Software Engineer IV

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, support, and continuously enhance enterprise DevSecOps platforms and services.

• Create, implement, and sustain CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure deployments within hybrid and Azure cloud environments.

• Develop and improve application security features, including SAST, SCA, DAST, vulnerability management, secrets management, and software supply chain security.

• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code, Configuration as Code, and automation solutions.

• Assist in the deployment and operation of containerized and cloud-native applications.

• Establish and adopt engineering standards, reusable deployment patterns, and secure software development methodologies.

• Collaborate with architecture, security, infrastructure, development, and platform teams.

• Diagnose and resolve intricate technical issues across applications, infrastructure, networking, identity, security, and cloud services.

• Assess emerging technologies and suggest enhancements to developer experience, security, reliability, and operational efficiency.

• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, documentation, training, and guidance to software and DevSecOps engineers.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 8 years of experience, or a comparable combination of education, training, and experience.

• Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check.

• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.

• REAL ID Act-compliant documentation required at the time of hire.

• No record that would prevent access to Department of Energy sites.

• Capability to obtain a U.S. Government Clearance.

• Extensive experience in designing, implementing, and supporting DevOps, DevSecOps, software delivery, platform engineering, or infrastructure automation solutions.

• Experience in leading complex technical projects involving multiple systems, technologies, and stakeholders.

• Strong understanding of software development practices, SSDLC principles, CI/CD, automation, cloud technologies, and application security.

• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and mentoring skills.

• Ability to effectively collaborate with all management levels, company employees, and external business partners.

• Capacity to work under pressure and independently prioritize tasks across various projects.

• Ability to research, organize, and analyze technical information accurately and with attention to detail.

• Sufficient fine motor skills for computer and calculator use as well as extended repetitive keyboarding.

• Adequate visual and communication abilities to perform essential job functions.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Enterprise.

• Preferred: Relevant certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-204, AZ-400, AZ-500, or equivalent industry certifications.

• Preferred: Experience in implementing application security programs, including SAST, SCA, DAST, SBOM, secrets scanning, and supply chain security.

• Preferred: Proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Bicep/ARM, or similar automation technologies.

• Preferred: Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container-based application delivery.

• Preferred: Background in regulated, government, or high-compliance environments.

• Preferred: Knowledge of identity and access management, observability, monitoring, vulnerability management, and compliance frameworks.

• Preferred: Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

• Preferred: REAL ID Act-compliant identification at the time of hire.

• Preferred: Ability to obtain a Department of Energy access badge.
