Software Engineer, iOS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Develop user-facing frontend features in iOS to enhance the future of inspiration on Pinterest.

• Participate in and lead all stages of the product development lifecycle, starting from ideation through implementation to release; including rapid prototyping, conducting A/B tests, and designing scalable solutions for millions of users.

• Collaborate with design, product, and backend teams to create seamless end-to-end functionality.

• Don your Pinner hat to propose innovative product ideas and features.

• Utilize automated testing to create features with a high level of technical quality, taking ownership of the components and features you develop.

• Advance your engineering skills by collaborating with top-tier peers on diverse, high-impact projects.

• Harness AI to achieve quicker execution (e.g., drafting, prototyping, outlining) and to explore alternative options (e.g., iterating, comparing approaches).

• Use AI to consolidate information (summarizing, distilling themes) and to automate repetitive tasks (e.g., documentation, reporting, QA checks).

⛳️ Requirements

• Profound knowledge of iOS development and best practices in Objective C and/or Swift.

• Over 3 years of professional experience in iOS application development, focusing on consumer or business-facing products.

• Proficiency in adhering to best practices for writing reliable and maintainable code that can be utilized by other engineers.

• Capability to stay current with new technologies and discern what should be integrated.

• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

• Proven ability to leverage AI to enhance speed and quality in daily workflows for relevant outputs.

• Strong history of critically evaluating and validating AI-assisted work (e.g., testing, source-checking, data validation, peer review).

• High integrity and sense of ownership: you safeguard sensitive data, minimize over-reliance on AI, and hold yourself accountable for final decisions and outcomes.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
