Software Engineer, Internal Audit

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Create and develop agent-driven experiences for SOX control testing.

• Take ownership of intricate end-to-end workstreams throughout the entire stack.

• Enhance the reliability, repeatability, performance, and observability of extended agentic operations.

• Transform agent outputs into comprehensive audit deliverables and structured workpapers that can adapt to firm templates.

• Begin shipping code from day one and take charge of significant product areas.

• Work collaboratively with product managers, designers, SOX subject matter experts, and customer-facing teams.

• Influence the technical direction for agentic systems, AI tools, and engineering methodologies.

• At senior levels, lead intricate projects, establish technical direction, shape roadmaps, mentor engineers, and act as a domain expert.

• At the staff level, spearhead company-wide technical initiatives, define engineering standards, impact architecture, and counsel leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• A proficient full-stack engineer who codes daily.

• Experience deploying LLMs in production with real users.

• Comfortable working full-stack with a strong backend focus on agent orchestration.

• Capable of working independently from ambiguous specifications.

• Possess a collaborative mindset across product management, design, and domain specialists.

• Eager to develop an Applied AI skill set, including conducting evaluations and utilizing LLM observability tools.

• Startup experience, including founder or early-engineer roles, 0→1 project experience, customer-facing roles, and internal audit/SOX/financial services/accounting/compliance experience are advantageous.

• Familiarity with TypeScript, React, GraphQL, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Python, and Temporal is a plus.

• Experience with document processing, PDF/Excel manipulation, or model output evaluation frameworks is also a plus.
