Software Engineer, Ingestion Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Enhance and sustain data infrastructure technologies that facilitate ML and analytics workflows.

• Oversee the Data Movement Platform for both batch and stream data processing.

• Develop infrastructure for Spark, Flink, and Airflow, including necessary open-source contributions.

• Create automated solutions that minimize manual effort and offer declarative, self-service data workflows.

• Participate in on-call duties and support monitoring and alerting processes.

• Elevate the reliability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of Reddit’s Data Platform.

• Work collaboratively with team members and partner teams to design and enhance scalable, fault-tolerant, self-service systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 2 years of experience in software engineering within a production environment, producing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.

• Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming languages such as Python, Scala, Go, or Java.

• Proven expertise in designing and implementing large-scale systems.

• Demonstrated experience in monitoring project progress and showcasing proactive leadership as a self-starter across various projects.

• Familiarity with cloud services, Airflow, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Spark, Flink, and/or contemporary cloud-based infrastructure.

• Outstanding communication skills for effective collaboration within a service-oriented team and the larger organization.
