Software Engineer in Test, Remote

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Greece, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of automation outcomes for designated product areas.

• Engage in planning prior to coding, taking into account scope, risk, data, and environments.

• Choose the suitable layers for API, E2E, smoke, manual, and exploratory testing.

• Develop and enhance test frameworks utilizing page objects, flows, typed API clients, and fixtures.

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to enhance testability.

• Create deterministic test scenarios and detailed test strategy plans.

• Manage fast, deterministic, and easily diagnosable CI end-to-end testing.

• Address test flakiness at its source.

• Report on automation coverage, identify gaps, and assess remaining risks.

• Detect, categorize, and report actionable defects with relevant screenshots, traces, error messages, and stack traces.

• Guide AI agents in planning scope, generating tests, troubleshooting failures, and maintaining automation.

• Develop reusable AI tools, agent skills, subagent definitions, and machine-readable testing conventions.

• Establish testing standards and support quality deliverables for LearnWorlds’ online learning platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a Quality Assurance / Software Testing engineer, with a strong focus on automation ownership.

• High proficiency in TypeScript and contemporary JavaScript/TypeScript development practices.

• Practical experience with Playwright or a similar modern web automation framework and Page Object Model design pattern.

• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions.

• Capable of producing and documenting test scenarios, acceptance criteria, and test strategy plans.

• Experience across API, UI, cross-browser, and responsive testing layers.

• Exceptional debugging, problem-solving, and performance optimization abilities.

• Strong attention to detail and a product-oriented approach.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively within a non-hierarchical flat organization.

• Strong skills in prioritization, estimation, and scheduling.

• Quick learner of the LearnWorlds platform, able to connect automation decisions to customer workflows.

• Proven skills in Agentic AI for planning, generating, debugging, and maintaining automation.

• Strong judgment in reviewing, guiding, and rejecting flaky, insecure, poorly structured, or irrelevant AI-generated tests.

• Nice-to-have: Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or containerized test environments.

• Nice-to-have: Background in EdTech, LMS, payments, ecommerce, analytics, mobile, or complex SaaS products.

• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with TestRail, Zephyr, or similar test management tools.

• Nice-to-have: Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Nice-to-have: Background in backend/API automation beyond UI flows.

• Nice-to-have: Contributions to GitHub repositories, open-source projects, or personal initiatives.
