📋 Description

• Take initiative to develop and sustain tools that enable communities to recognize, address, and avert various types of abuse within Wikimedia projects.

• Design systems that prioritize user privacy while identifying behavioral patterns that may suggest abusive actions, aiming to reduce false positives and uphold user anonymity.

• Continuously refine abuse detection and mitigation approaches in line with evolving browser privacy regulations, networking protocols, and platform architecture.

• Work collaboratively with product managers, designers, and researchers to develop comprehensive, user-centered solutions that strike a balance between safety and freedom.

• Create robust, maintainable systems and high-quality code with an emphasis on long-term sustainability.

• Implement monitoring to ensure high-quality standards and system reliability.

• Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of anti-abuse initiatives across Wikimedia projects.

• Over 1 year of relevant professional experience

• Experience in building and maintaining large-scale applications

• Proficiency in PHP, Javascript, or similar programming languages

• Expertise in relational databases

• Solid understanding of security principles

• Experience in leading cross-team objectives

• Proven ability to drive user and product impact
