Software Engineer III

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software across the entire stack.

• Create and sustain backend services and APIs utilizing Ruby on Rails.

• Develop and manage frontend applications using React, JavaScript, and/or TypeScript.

• Construct and consume REST APIs while integrating with both internal and external services.

• Utilize relational databases and SQL for application development and troubleshooting tasks.

• Engage with Kafka or other messaging technologies in application and integration workflows.

• Write unit and integration tests while ensuring automated test coverage is maintained.

• Take part in code reviews and implement engineering standards and best practices.

• Diagnose application and production issues while identifying root causes.

• Contribute to deployments, monitoring, and production support efforts.

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA, and fellow engineers to deliver functional software.

• Engage in technical design discussions and make implementation decisions.

• Develop and maintain technical documentation for applications, APIs, and system behaviors.

• Enhance engineering processes, development tools, and team practices.

• Participate in an on-call rotation as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–5 years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent practical experience.

• Proven experience in developing applications with Ruby on Rails.

• Experience in developing frontend applications using React.

• Proficient in Ruby, JavaScript, and/or TypeScript.

• Experience in building or consuming REST APIs.

• Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases.

• Experience in writing automated tests.

• Familiarity with Git and contemporary software development practices.

• Ability to troubleshoot application issues and contribute to production support.

• Capability to work independently on well-defined technical challenges while recognizing when to seek assistance.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Eagerness and capacity to learn new technologies and systems.

• Healthcare experience is preferred but not mandatory.

• Familiarity with FHIR, HL7v2, or CCDA/C-CDA is a plus.

• Experience with Mirth Connect or another healthcare integration engine is advantageous.

• Experience integrating with EHR/EMR systems is preferred.

• Familiarity with Kafka or other messaging/event-driven technologies is a plus.

• Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP is preferred.

• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes is advantageous.

• Understanding of healthcare data privacy and security requirements, including HIPAA, is preferred.

• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or similar technologies is advantageous.
