This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deploy, configure, and sustain Palo Alto firewalls in colocation and data center settings.
• Oversee network hardware installations in colocation facilities, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Set up and provide support for Meraki-based networking solutions in corporate offices.
• Implement and uphold VPN solutions for secure remote access and site-to-site connectivity.
• Manage and resolve issues related to Layer 2 and Layer 3 data center network infrastructure.
• Configure and enhance routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and MPLS for enterprise connectivity.
• Collaborate with Internet Service Providers (ISPs) like Equinix and Card Networks including Visa/Mastercard/Pulse to maintain and optimize connectivity, troubleshoot network problems, and ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met.
• Execute rack and stack operations, cable management, and maintenance of physical infrastructure in colocation facilities.
• Monitor network performance and implement Quality of Service (QoS) policies to ensure efficient traffic flow.
• Troubleshoot intricate network issues across both physical and virtual environments.
• Keep precise network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and runbooks.
• Participate in on-call rotations to deliver 24/7 network support.
• Apply network security best practices and ensure adherence to security policies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support infrastructure projects and application deployments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience with enterprise network infrastructure.
• Strong familiarity with Cisco switches; CCNP certification is highly advantageous.
• Experience in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Palo Alto firewalls.
• Practical experience with Meraki cloud-managed networking solutions.
• Proficient in VPN technologies, including IPsec, SSL VPN, and site-to-site configurations.
• Experience managing network hardware in colocation and data center environments.
• Strong comprehension of routing protocols like BGP, OSPF, and MPLS.
• Proficiency in networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, VLANs, spanning tree, and routing and switching technologies.
• In-depth understanding of OSI model layers 1-4 and practical application in troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools and platforms.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash) for network automation is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to colocation sites as necessary.
