Network Operations Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Oversee the performance of networks, servers, and applications utilizing NOC monitoring tools.

• Investigate and resolve Level 2 network incidents and service outages.

• Diagnose issues related to LAN, WAN, VPN, Internet, and wireless connectivity.

• Evaluate alarms, alerts, and performance metrics to detect potential issues.

• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring incidents.

• Collaborate with Level 1 support teams while offering technical guidance.

• Escalate critical matters to Level 3 engineers, vendors, or service providers as necessary.

• Manage incidents, problems, and change requests in line with ITIL processes.

• Ensure incident resolution within SLA and monitor network uptime and availability.

• Keep network documentation, troubleshooting procedures, and incident reports updated.

• Guarantee compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

• Take part in scheduled maintenance and network upgrade activities.

• Produce daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 4–6 years of experience in Network Operations Center (NOC) or Network Support roles.

• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Spanning-Tree, ACL, Port-Channel, and Redundancy Protocols.

• Experience in troubleshooting Switching & Routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP.

• Familiarity with network monitoring tools like Logic Monitor, SolarWinds, or similar.

• Practical experience with Cisco products and Palo Alto/Fortinet or comparable security solutions.

• Background in troubleshooting VPN, SD-WAN, and Internet connectivity problems.

• Knowledge of network security concepts and firewall management.

• Understanding of cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.

• Preferred certifications include CCNA, CCNP, PCNSA, or equivalent.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and documentation capabilities.

• Ability to operate in a 24x7 shift environment.

• Effective coordination and stakeholder management skills.

• Capability to perform well under pressure during critical incidents.
