This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• In collaboration with your team’s technical lead and manager, you will decompose larger projects into manageable tasks, deliver them across multiple phases, and work with others to ensure your work is completed on time.

• You will assist your colleagues and stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle by working alongside product management, design, and analytics, participating in brainstorming sessions, articulating technical limitations, and collaborating on decisions that appropriately evaluate risks and trade-offs.

• You will help maintain the operations and availability of your team’s deliverables by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating issues when necessary, and supporting ongoing “keep the lights on” and on-call initiatives.

• You will foster a sense of community within your team by engaging in growth and development activities, including participation in the interview process.


⛳️ Requirements

• You possess a minimum of 2.5 years of experience as a software engineer.

• You have experience in designing, developing, and launching backend systems, and are skilled in either Python or Kotlin.

• You are knowledgeable about the fundamental components of distributed systems, and technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.

• You have experience in designing, developing, and deploying APIs at scale using languages like Python or Kotlin.

• You excel at transforming a straightforward problem or business scenario into a solution that interacts with multiple software components, executing it by writing clear, understandable, well-tested, and extensible code.

• You are adept at navigating a large codebase, debugging others' code, and providing constructive feedback to fellow engineers through code reviews.

• Your experience illustrates your commitment to personal growth, as you actively seek feedback from your team, manager, and stakeholders.

• You possess strong verbal and written communication skills that facilitate effective collaboration with our global engineering team.

• This role requires either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
