Software Engineer II – Identity Security Posture Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore.

📋 Description

• Address well-defined challenges derived from product requirements by providing comprehensive backend solutions, encompassing data modeling through to APIs and evaluation logic.

• Play a role in designing core identity security posture systems while authoring and reviewing technical design documentation.

• Engage in architectural discussions and design reviews, highlighting trade-offs and edge cases.

• Maintain engineering best practices across various areas including testing, code quality, API design, and observability.

• Develop and scale high-performance backend services utilizing Go, including event-driven systems, REST/gRPC APIs, cron jobs, and integration layers.

• Design, model, and optimize database schemas that can manage large-scale multi-tenant identity workloads.

• Implement event-driven workflows utilizing Kafka as a message queue to facilitate asynchronous processing and ensure ongoing evaluation of identity postures.

• Ensure operational reliability and service health through standard runbooks, feature flags, and comprehensive monitoring setups.

• Collaborate effectively with team leads, engineering managers, and fellow engineers to align on feature scope, prioritize tasks, and achieve quarterly key results and milestones.

• Participate in on-call rotation, incident management, and SLO oversight.

• Operate independently and asynchronously within a distributed team based in India and Singapore.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of software development experience, with approximately 2 years focused on building production-grade backend services.

• Significant backend production experience with Go, creating idiomatic services characterized by clean design patterns, thorough testing, and strong error handling.

• Proficient system design skills, with experience in building and managing scalable, multi-tenant, event-driven distributed systems.

• Practical experience with Kafka or comparable high-throughput event-streaming technologies.

• Strong SQL and PostgreSQL skills, including schema design, query optimization, and data modeling for multi-tenant workloads.

• Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating technical trade-offs, contributing to design documents, and collaborating effectively with team leads, project managers, and colleagues.

• Ability to navigate ambiguity, making informed decisions with limited data and iterating swiftly.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted software development workflows and tools.
