Software Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable backend services and APIs utilizing .NET and TypeScript for AI-driven agent platforms.

• Create and enhance TypeScript-based agents that facilitate phone and chat communication experiences.

• Take ownership of technical solutions from design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI agent solutions with existing systems and infrastructure.

• Contribute to system architecture and technical design choices for high-volume communication workflows.

• Produce clean, maintainable, well-tested code and provide constructive feedback through code reviews.

• Diagnose complex production issues and enhance system reliability, performance, and observability.

• Guide less-experienced engineers and contribute to engineering best practices and standards.

• Assess emerging technologies to enhance AI-driven customer experiences.

• Potentially engage in an on-call rotation, including nights and weekends, to support production systems and ensure service reliability.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4+ years of professional software development experience after graduation.

• Strong proficiency in .NET and TypeScript or Node.js.

• Solid understanding of backend development, API design, distributed systems, and GraphQL.

• Experience in designing and delivering production software with increasing levels of responsibility and complexity.

• Experience in troubleshooting and supporting applications in production environments.

• Ability to write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and effectively review the work of fellow engineers.

• Excellent collaboration and communication skills across engineering and cross-functional teams.

• Experience with Sierra AI or similar platforms for creating agentic communication experiences (preferred).

• Familiarity with IVR, IVA, conversational AI, or contact center technologies (preferred).

• Experience with cloud platforms and containerization technologies (preferred).

• Background in building AI or machine learning-driven applications (preferred).

• Experience in designing scalable, highly available backend services (preferred).

• Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to other engineers (preferred).
