Software Engineer I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Identify and oversee both existing and potential risks arising from business operations and the specific job role.

• Ensure that risks related to business activities are recognized, assessed, monitored, and mitigated.

• Adhere to established risk and compliance policies and procedures.

• Collaborate with senior and lead engineers to design, develop, code, and test significant technical solutions.

• Conduct code and design reviews.

• Organize tasks and guide the team in delivering features and solutions.

• Resolve intricate production challenges and lead comprehensive troubleshooting across various applications and systems.

• Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers.

• Collaborate with architecture teams to influence technological direction within a designated domain.

• Support enterprise and organizational growth through effective technology solutions.

• Engage in all phases of the software systems and application development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, testing, documentation, implementation, and outage response.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Software, Computer Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline.

• 4 years of relevant experience in the offered position or a related field.

• Proficiency in the Guidewire InsuranceSuite platform.

• Experience with Guidewire AWS Cloud.

• Knowledge of the Gosu programming language.

• Expertise in SOAP web service development.

• Familiarity with REST frameworks.

• Experience in API development.

• Proficient in Agile methodology.

• Competence in Java, J2EE, and JavaScript.

• Knowledge of WebSphere, WebLogic, and Apache Tomcat.

• Familiarity with Spring Boot.

• Experience in relational database design and optimization using the Gosu Query language.

• Skills in batch process design, development, and optimization.

• Ability to integrate with backend services utilizing JMS and JDBC.

• Comprehensive understanding of policy and claims end-to-end business processes.
