Software Engineer I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop scalable front-end and back-end solutions for the next generation of applications at Smartsheet (Kotlin, Java, Typescript, React).

• Address complex distributed systems challenges while utilizing modern cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes).

• Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions, collaborating with fellow software engineers and product managers.

• Establish a robust partnership with product management and other essential business areas.

• Improve existing application code by adding new features, finding a balance in technical decision-making (build vs refactor vs simplify).

• Proactively leverage AI tools to enhance individual and team efficiency across coding, testing, design, and troubleshooting, exploring opportunities for AI integration within team processes and features while mentoring others in effective AI utilization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 1 year of software development experience in creating highly scalable and highly available applications.

• More than 1 year of programming experience with full stack technologies such as Java, Kotlin, Python, or TypeScript.

• At least 1 year of experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.).

• Proficient in developing, documenting, and supporting REST APIs.

• Minimum of 6 months of professional experience utilizing AI to enhance personal productivity while building complex SaaS feature sets.

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Flexible and able to adapt as priorities or challenges evolve.

• Eager to take ownership of your responsibilities and embrace larger challenges.

• A clear communicator, both written and verbal, capable of articulating your thoughts in code reviews, documentation, and team discussions.

• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis.
