Software Engineer, Home Design Experience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee the technical architecture and implementation of the Home Design Experience application.

• Report directly to the VP of Engineering and act as the main technical collaborator with the product/UX lead.

• Quickly prototype home design workflows and convert successful ideas into customer-ready software solutions.

• Lead interactive 3D home design workflows that integrate UI, design data, and real-time 3D environments.

• Develop AI-enhanced and agentic interactions for home design applications.

• Take ownership of application architecture and technical delivery from initial prototypes to final production.

• Make informed decisions regarding frontend development, application state, and service integration, focusing on performance, reliability, and testing.

• Transform ambiguous objectives into actionable implementation plans and address technical uncertainties through functional code.

• Collaborate with the platform team to utilize, enhance, implement, and document shared application foundations.

• Provide support to junior engineers through pairing, code reviews, and technical mentorship.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in architecting, developing, and launching significant web applications from the initial phase to production.

• Extensive hands-on expertise with TypeScript, React, and contemporary web application architecture.

• Proficient in application state management, API integration, performance optimization, and maintainability.

• Practical experience with Three.js and browser-based 3D applications is a strong advantage.

• Familiarity with design or CAD tools is particularly beneficial.

• Passion for AI-driven development and creating AI-supported or agentic product experiences.

• Demonstrated ability to make independent technical decisions alongside a product or design lead.

• Experience in collaborating with application and platform teams.

• Skilled in mentoring and guiding less experienced engineers through implementation and technical support.

• Comfortable with ambiguity.
