This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Cyprus.
• Design, develop, and maintain the Traffic Management System API (a Go service) to oversee routing and traffic-steering configurations across our global edge fleet.
• Create the agent responsible for rendering and implementing routing configurations on edge nodes, effectively ensuring the desired state is achieved from the API to the edge.
• Expand and enhance BGP and Anycast routing functionalities, which includes configuration rendering, peer-group and route-map support, and prefix filtering, as we unify edge routing onto a centralized control plane.
• Develop and uphold automated failover and high-availability solutions, which incorporate non-stop maintenance mode and capacity- and health-aware traffic offloading from congested points of presence.
• Enhance reliability through comprehensive test coverage (including configuration rendering and end-to-end pipeline tests), metrics, and observability throughout the routing pipeline.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to improve system performance, reliability, and resilience.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering.
• Over 3 years of experience with Go.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight, taking ownership of tasks from start to finish and communicating proactively.
• Proficiency in working within Linux environments.
• Experience in DevOps practices, focusing on infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, and system monitoring tools.
• Knowledge of service-level indicators (SLIs), objectives (SLOs), and agreements (SLAs) and their relevance in maintaining system reliability.
• Proven track record in incident management, effectively addressing and resolving production issues.
• Practical experience with AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor) and agentic workflows for automation or operational tasks (preferred).
• Understanding of the DNS protocol and experience with DNS server implementations (preferred).
• Strong knowledge and experience with network protocols such as BGP and TCP/IP (preferred).
