Software Engineer, DevOps

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform utilizing Terraform.

• Enhance and streamline CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.

• Automate repetitive operational tasks with scripts and tools.

• Equip services and infrastructure with monitoring, dashboards, and alerting through Datadog.

• Engage in the on-call rotation and address incidents as they arise.

• Establish and monitor Service Level Objectives for foundational infrastructure and build systems.

• Assist product engineering teams with deployment pipelines, environmental challenges, and build troubleshooting.

• Oversee preview and staging environments, including data synchronization, masking, and cleanup processes.

• Enhance the developer experience via tools, runbooks, and comprehensive documentation.

• Create well-tested and reviewed infrastructure code; engage in design reviews and RFCs.

• Conduct and receive code reviews while sharing insights through collaboration and documentation.

• Work closely with the Tech Lead, DevOps, Platform, Data Engineering, and domain product teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Approximately 3 - 4 years of professional experience in DevOps, SRE, infrastructure, or backend engineering within production environments.

• Practical experience in provisioning and managing infrastructure on at least one cloud provider, preferably Google Cloud Platform.

• Proven success in delivering automation, pipelines, or infrastructure that enhanced team productivity or reliability.

• A passion for developer productivity and enabling our teams to achieve maximum impact.

• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code, ideally Terraform, and experience in constructing CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitHub Actions.

• Strong software engineering skills and a comfort level with Linux environments.

• Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools, along with strong debugging skills across logs, traces, and metrics.

• Familiarity with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and containerized applications.

• A solid foundation in reliability, performance, and security principles.
