Software Engineer, CRDT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Design and develop sophisticated synchronization and networking systems to ensure dependable AI operations across diverse environments, ranging from edge devices to isolated cloud systems.

• Create architectures for data synchronization frameworks utilizing content-addressable storage, Merkle trees, and CRDTs.

• Oversee performance tuning, debugging, and optimization of distributed software in scenarios with limited resources and intermittent connectivity.

• Implement a security-first approach through threat modeling, secure key management, and the use of cryptographic primitives and protocols.

• Partner with MLOps, Infrastructure, and Security teams to deploy and integrate AI components in restricted or air-gapped environments.

• Engage in architectural design discussions and documentation that involve cross-functional teams, catering to both internal and external stakeholders.

• Uphold stringent testing, observability, and validation practices to ensure system reliability and compliance readiness.

• Utilize distributed hash tables, content identifiers, gossip protocols, DAGs, overlay networks, and NAT traversal techniques where applicable.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5-10+ years of relevant experience, based on level, with backend systems programming languages such as C++, C, Go, or Rust.

• Familiarity with peer-to-peer or decentralized networking frameworks is essential.

• Experience with CRDTs is mandatory.

• Although development will be conducted in Rust, candidates without prior Rust experience can learn while engaging with these systems.
