Software Engineer – Contractor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver cutting-edge technology capabilities for the Equity Portfolio Management group within Investments.

• Design, develop, enhance, document, and test various application services.

• Construct or implement technologies utilizing industry-standard tools and best practices.

• Uphold high standards of software quality through effective practices and habits.

• Identify and promote areas for team development and improvement.

• Assist with user stories, estimations, and work plans.

• Prepare reports, manuals, and documentation regarding software status, operations, and maintenance.

• Advise business clients and IT management on technology capabilities while recommending strategies.

• Provide third-level support to both local and remote investment business clients.

⛳️ Requirements

• Prior experience as a Software Developer.

• Proficient in Python, Django, Angular, C# Microsoft .NET 3.5+ framework, PostgreSQL, Transact SQL, and Javascript.

• Understanding of object-oriented and service-oriented application development methods and theories.

• Experience with automated acceptance testing.

• Capable of writing unit-tested, maintainable code.

• Familiarity with SOLID coding principles.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.

• Strong communication skills with internal team members and external business stakeholders.

• Ability to enhance solutions, systems, and processes.

• Preferred: Knowledge of Domain Driven Design.

• Preferred: Experience with Agile development methodologies and practices (Scrum, Kanban, or XP).

• Preferred: Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines.

• Preferred: Experience developing with CQRS and Event Sourcing Architectures.

• Preferred: Background in designing and developing financial systems.
