Software Engineer, Consumer Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Product Management, Product Design, Data Science, and iOS/Android/Web client engineers to convert business and user requirements into dependable, low-latency technical solutions.

• Take ownership of the complete software lifecycle for significant product initiatives, including technical design documents, API contracts, development, testing, rollout, and observability.

• Design, construct, and assess A/B experiments.

• Evaluate user behavior, conversion funnels, and retention loops using tools like BigQuery, HEX, or Firebase.

• Develop and sustain scalable APIs and distributed backend services optimized for client consumption and consumer UI performance.

• Establish engineering best practices and enhance developer workflows.

• Mentor colleagues and leverage modern AI-integrated tools to deliver high-quality products efficiently.

• Contribute to consumer products aimed at content discovery, community engagement, growth, monetization, conversion, identity, and security.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of practical backend development experience.

• Proven experience in building and operating large-scale distributed serving systems in high-concurrency environments.

• Proficient in modern backend programming languages such as Go, Python, Java, Kotlin, Rust, or C++.

• Expertise in designing and maintaining scalable, maintainable APIs using GraphQL, REST, or gRPC.

• Familiarity with high-throughput caching layers and distributed datastores such as Redis, Cassandra, or PostgreSQL.

• Experience or interest in utilizing AI-assisted engineering tools.

• A user-centric approach with an understanding of product usability, interaction design, social dynamics, and user growth loops.

• Comfortable with designing experiments, setting performance metrics, and iterating based on real-time feedback.

• Exceptional communication skills and a history of fostering cross-functional alignment in fully remote or hybrid team settings.
