Software Engineer, Computer Use & Integrations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Develop Recare's Operator, an agent responsible for transferring AI-generated clinical outputs into hospital systems by utilizing existing software.

• Enhance the functionality of the Windows desktop application, ensuring its reliability in production environments.

• Construct and refine integrations between hospital systems and Recare's products.

• Implement and strengthen automation workflows for computer use, addressing edge cases, recovery procedures, and safety measures.

• Collaborate with clinical domain experts to transform ambiguous workflows into actionable plans and solid implementations.

• Contribute to various layers of the technology stack as required, including the Go-based gateway.

• Establish observability foundations through logs, metrics, and traces.

• Deploy software and leverage telemetry for issue identification and resolution.

⛳️ Requirements

• Professional backend development experience in Go, Python, or TypeScript.

• A proven track record of shipping and owning production software.

• Familiarity with integration-centric systems, including APIs, workflows, data models, authentication, and real-world edge scenarios.

• A practical emphasis on reliability, monitoring, debugging, test coverage, and operational efficiency.

• A keen interest in utilizing AI coding agents on a daily basis and forming opinions on their effective application.

• Ambition coupled with the ability to handle frustration.

• Strong communication skills in English.

• Capability to collaborate effectively across Product, Engineering, and Operations teams.

• Proficiency in the German language is a plus.

• Experience with Electron or TypeScript in desktop applications is advantageous.

• Familiarity with healthcare IT systems (HIS, KIS, PVS, EMR) and interoperability standards such as HL7 v2 or FHIR is beneficial.

• Legal authorization to work in Germany or the EU is required.
