Software Engineer – Business Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services that are essential for core business systems and integrations.

• Create and manage API integrations with both internal and external platforms.

• Develop and enhance workflows across CRM and ERP systems (such as Salesforce and NetSuite).

• Design and facilitate reliable, scalable data flows between billing, provisioning, and operational systems.

• Collaborate with product, operations, and cross-functional engineering teams to provide solutions that meet business needs.

• Engage in Agile Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, standups, reviews, and retrospectives.

• Diagnose production issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions to enhance system reliability.

• Participate in discussions regarding system architecture and technical design decisions.

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-structured code that adheres to best practices, with a strong focus on readability, testability, and long-term maintainability.

• Produce clear and comprehensive technical documentation to support ongoing development, knowledge sharing, and system support.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in software engineering.

• Strong backend development experience utilizing one or more of the following languages: PHP (preferably Laravel), Golang, Java, or Perl.

• Demonstrated experience in designing, building, and consuming RESTful APIs or similar service interfaces.

• Practical experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.

• Strong proficiency in SQL, including query optimization and data modeling capabilities.

• Experience in developing and deploying applications within Linux-based environments.

• Knowledge of distributed systems and asynchronous processing patterns.

• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum development methodologies.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to debug and resolve complex technical issues.

• Proficient in spoken and written English, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly; a resume must be submitted in English.

• Experience integrating with CRM platforms such as Salesforce.

• Experience working with ERP systems such as NetSuite.

• Familiarity with event-driven or messaging architectures (e.g., queues, pub/sub).

• Experience in AWS or similar cloud environments.

• Experience with Docker or containerized development workflows.

• Exposure to automation in billing, provisioning, or operational workflows.

• Experience in handling high-volume data processing or system integrations.
