Software Engineer – Branching

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Design and enhance the primary orchestration engine responsible for managing the lifecycle of creating, merging, and rebasing Supabase Branches.

• Provision temporary sandboxed execution environments on EKS/ECS for untrusted build workloads sourced from connected Git repositories, ensuring secure management of secrets.

• Implement job scheduling capable of handling thousands of concurrent builds.

• Optimize pipeline runtimes utilizing caching, artifact storage, and dependency reuse.

• Oversee logic for retry, timeout, cancellation, and failure propagation.

• Instrument the entire pipeline lifecycle with observability tools, including traces, metrics, and structured logs.

• Create JSON/TOML configuration files and integrate Terraform/Pulumi for defining, triggering, and inspecting pipelines in code.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong software engineering capabilities; proficiency in Go and TypeScript is essential.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in building and managing cloud infrastructure or large-scale distributed systems.

• Required knowledge of cloud infrastructure and AWS constructs.

• Experience with AWS SDKs and infrastructure-as-code tools like Pulumi and Terraform is highly preferred.

• Proven ability to build reliable, observable, and maintainable systems.

• Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Strong communication skills across both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience collaborating within asynchronous or globally distributed teams.

• Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to act swiftly.
