Software Engineer, Big Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop data processing and exploration pipelines alongside ML infrastructure to enhance ZipRecruiter’s intelligence.

• Implement a variety of cloud-based technologies for essential projects.

• Write, test, instrument, and deploy code within a Kubernetes environment.

• Contribute to the innovation and advancement of ZipRecruiter.

• Create fast, scalable, and efficient applications, alongside stream and batch data processing, ML infrastructure, and other systems that serve millions of jobseekers and tens of thousands of customers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of professional software development experience with an emphasis on Python and big data technologies.

• Familiarity with Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, Hive, and/or other big data technologies.

• Strong foundation in computer science principles, including coding, object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.

• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and/or Kubernetes.

• Preferred: At least 4 years of professional software development experience focused on Python and big data technologies.

• Preferred: Experience with data integration tools like Apache Kafka, Flume, and NiFi.

• Preferred: Knowledge of data storage technologies such as Delta Lake, HBase, Cassandra, and MongoDB.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Apache Hudi, Apache Beam, Apache Flink, Google Cloud Dataflow, Amazon Kinesis Data Analytics, and/or Azure Databricks.

• Preferred: BS/MS/PhD in Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
