Software Engineer, Backend

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in designing the backend for a Command & Control system that manages swarms of diverse aircraft.

• Develop distributed, collaborative real-time infrastructure for the simultaneous control of numerous aircraft, even during communication failures.

• Create and implement services that collect, process, and distribute comprehensive vehicle telemetry, sensor data, scheduling, crew resources, and data link management.

• Take ownership of backend features from conception to deployment.

• Deliver products frequently and reliably, supported by robust CI/CD, QA, and DevSecOps practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

• Over 6 years of experience in developing complex backend systems with a strong foundation in distributed systems.

• Excellent instincts for reliability, performance, and scalability, along with the tools to support them.

• Experience in building and managing production backend services and APIs at scale.

• Proficiency in real-time and event-driven distributed systems.

• A proven history of developing performance-sensitive, high-throughput applications.

• Familiarity with messaging and streaming protocols.

• Experience managing systems under degraded or intermittent connectivity.

• Background in geospatial data or applications.

• Candidates must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain necessary authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
