Software Engineer, Back-End – Mail

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage high-throughput production services that drive AI agent orchestration, connector integrations, and real-time data pipelines.

• Conceptualize and create platform services, including task schedulers, session and conversation history, client-server protocols, and APIs.

• Engage with Superhuman’s product ecosystem, which encompasses Go, Mail, Docs, and Enterprise.

• Partner with ML/AI, Product, and Front-End engineers to deliver AI-enhanced features from inception to deployment.

• Construct and advance infrastructure as code to ensure high availability for both consumer and enterprise clients.

• Contribute to documentation, testing, and reliability initiatives.

• Mentor and support the development of junior engineers.

• Upgrade the Mail calendar backend, focusing on calendar synchronization, notification systems, and client APIs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in back-end development.

• Strong foundational knowledge in algorithms, data structures, and system design.

• Proven experience in building, deploying, and troubleshooting production systems at scale.

• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms such as GCP and Azure.

• Comfortable working with AI-driven systems, including LLM-based infrastructure, agentic workflows, or ML pipelines.

• Proficient with AI coding tools like Copilot, Cursor, and Claude Code.

• In-depth understanding of CI/CD practices and infrastructure as code.

• Experience with real-time systems, event-driven architectures, or high-throughput API design is advantageous.

• Ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks across various projects, and collaborate efficiently with cross-functional teams.

• Strong product instincts with the capability to balance speed and reliability.
