Software Engineer, Back-end

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Influence the technical trajectory of some of Tines’ most essential systems.

• Implement impactful changes in our codebase within your first week, witnessing them live in production shortly after merging.

• Contribute to the execution of jobs and code at the core of our application.

• Write and assess high-quality, thoroughly tested code to ensure a reliable product for our customers.

• Identify opportunities for enhancements, both within our codebase and in our operational processes.

• Take ownership of the challenges you tackle - and the software you develop to address them - all the way through to production and beyond.

⛳️ Requirements

• Typically possess 6+ years of experience as a professional software engineer.

• Demonstrated history of accomplishments as a software engineer.

• Knowledge or interest in Linux systems, including namespaces, file descriptors, Unix sockets, mounts, networking, and process isolation.

• Familiarity or enthusiasm for container runtimes, orchestration, or code execution platforms.

• Understanding or interest in filesystem and file storage, covering POSIX behavior, content-addressed storage, and crash recovery.

• Experience or interest in low-level system primitives using Rust or Go.

• Knowledge or enthusiasm for debugging: creating focused reproducers for kernel, runtime, and storage issues, along with utilizing logs, traces, metrics, and tests to pinpoint root causes.
