Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +9 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop and improve scalable Golang microservices to support eligibility, coverage, billing, and client-facing systems.

• Automate and optimize operational workflows to minimize manual data handling and enhance the accuracy and accessibility of member and client information.

• Create and implement self-service tools that empower finance, operations, and client teams to independently manage processes and configurations, thereby reducing dependency on engineering.

• Guarantee that member, client, and operational data is accurate, consistent, and traceable, facilitating both internal decision-making and external reporting.

• Collaborate with data and AI teams to identify opportunities for applying AI in data validation, process automation, and anomaly detection.

• Contribute to client-facing APIs that facilitate seamless data interchange between Virta and its customers.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience delivering backend code in a high-quality production setting, with a focus on data-centric systems.

• Proven experience in building microservices in a production environment.

• Familiarity with data and event-driven architectures, including API development, SQL/NoSQL databases, and messaging queues.

• Proficient in Golang.

• Experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud, AWS, and/or Azure.

• Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders at the business level.

• A commitment to long-term strategic thinking and the ability to drive business impact while maintaining engineering quality.

• Practical experience using AI tools to enhance development workflows or improve data processes.

• Basic frontend skills for occasional full-stack tasks.

• Familiarity with healthcare, fintech, or other regulated industries where data integrity is critical.
