This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Contribute to the design and execution of product features that align with technical strategies, quality standards, and functional requirements.
• Develop code throughout the entire lifecycle, from development and testing to production, along with subsequent fixes and enhancements.
• Participate in release planning, providing accurate estimations and delivering work that meets the defined scope and quality expectations.
• Engage in code reviews and other collaborative engineering practices.
• Take part in daily standups, sprint ceremonies, and retrospective discussions.
• Participate in security reviews of new developments to ensure compliance with Sophos security requirements and industry best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues as the first responder within the team.
• Practical experience in developing code using C++.
• Working knowledge of Python or another scripting language.
• Experience in developing for Microsoft Windows platforms.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a willingness to take initiative and own one's work, while seeking support as needed.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills within a cross-functional Agile team.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in Microsoft Windows driver development.
• Proficiency in developing code with Modern C++ (C++ 11/14/17).
• Familiarity with the LUA scripting language.
• Experience working within Agile development methodologies.
• Experience with continuous integration, build, and testing.
• Designing software systems and components.
• Experience with security reviews, secure coding practices, and meeting security requirements.
