This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Design and deliver backend services in Go that handle messages from the charging network.
• Take ownership of clearly defined projects from the design phase through to production.
• Write code that is maintainable, create automated tests, and provide comprehensive documentation.
• Work within established systems while identifying areas for enhancement.
• Engage in code reviews, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
• Provide support to new team members and less experienced engineers.
• Participate in sprint planning, project scoping, estimation, kick-off meetings, and reviews.
• Shape technical solutions, identify potential risks, and propose enhancements.
• Monitor system performance through dashboards, alerts, and support channels.
• Investigate issues, enhance operations, and automate manual processes.
• Thoughtfully leverage AI tools to boost productivity and streamline software delivery.
• Collaborate with management on technical development, overall impact, and career growth.
• Experience in building and operating backend services using a statically typed, compiled language in a commercial or similar setting.
• Proficiency in Go is highly desirable; strong experience in Java, C#, Kotlin, Rust, or C++ is equally valuable.
• Willingness to work with idiomatic Go and adopt its patterns and principles.
• Practical experience with modern cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
• Familiarity with databases, containerization, event-driven architectures, Pub/Sub systems, queue-based processing, virtual networking, and Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.
• Understanding of version control practices and pull request workflows.
• Knowledge of automated testing methodologies.
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline implementations.
• Familiarity with secure software development practices.
• Capability to write maintainable and supportable code.
• Ability to decompose complex problems into manageable components and deliver solutions independently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to discuss trade-offs, consider diverse perspectives, and adapt strategies accordingly.
