Software Development Manager

📋 Description

• Facilitates systems analysis and application development activities through both direct and indirect staff engagement.

• Collaborates with business and technology leaders to establish, prioritize, and fulfill strategic goals concerning approved application development projects and platforms.

• Recognizes opportunities to deliver business value through enhancements in business processes, organizational change, and/or technology integration.

• Assesses project risks, costs, and benefits, providing relevant recommendations to the business and technology leadership team.

• Oversees the complete application lifecycle, including scoping, sizing, estimating, analyzing cross-impacts, planning, developing, implementing, and maintaining post-implementation support.

• Guides development teams in scheduling, technical direction, future planning, and adherence to standard development practices.

• Coordinates and manages both onshore and offshore remote team members.

• Engages in budgeting, capital equipment processes, and quality improvement initiatives for the development organization.

• Applies best practices to ensure that all core IT functions are thoroughly documented, supportable, and compliant with relevant regulations.

• Maintains systems at current software levels and evaluates the costs and benefits associated with application upgrades.

• Oversees formal functional and performance testing processes.

• Develops processes and tools that promote continuous performance enhancements.

• Communicates application development status regularly to all stakeholders, sets expectations, and manages team members effectively.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.

• Generally requires 15 or more years of application development experience, including one or more years in a lead role and/or directly supervising others.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Angular (12+) and the modern Angular ecosystem tooling.

• Familiarity with cutting-edge front-end technologies, patterns, and frameworks, including component-driven architecture, advanced state management, and modular and micro-frontend-friendly designs.

• Proficient in TypeScript, modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS/SCSS.

• Experience in building high-performance, responsive, and accessible enterprise web applications.

• Strong understanding of integrating front-end applications with RESTful APIs and backend services.

• Experience with front-end CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and performance monitoring.

• Ability to guide teams in making front-end architectural decisions with a focus on scalability, maintainability, and long-term evolution.

• Experience in creating and deploying software on Azure cloud-based platforms.

• Background in developing highly scalable SaaS offerings.

• Familiarity with Microsoft technologies, including .NET, ASP.NET, Web API, and SQL Server.

• Experience in developing web applications and web services (REST/SOAP).

• Strong full-stack software development experience.
