This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Lead the team and technology that will shape LawDepot’s next generation of AI-driven experiences, reporting capabilities, and data-informed decision-making.

• Oversee Software Developers, Data Scientists, Business Intelligence Specialists, and other technical contributors to cultivate a high-performing team and promote technical excellence.

• Spearhead the delivery of AI-enhanced products and features for customers, enhancing the legal solutions experience for millions of users globally.

• Champion and facilitate AI adoption throughout LawDepot, assisting internal teams in improving AI literacy and using AI tools in a productive, secure, and responsible manner.

• Establish and uphold best practices for AI-native development.

• Direct the design and delivery of reporting and data analysis software that empowers business teams to access accurate, timely, and actionable insights through dashboards, self-service reporting tools, reporting platforms, SQL queries, automated workflows, and Excel-based analyses.

• Own and prioritize the AI team roadmap to ensure alignment with business objectives, customer requirements, technical feasibility, reporting obligations, and organizational impact.

• Research, assess, and recommend AI tools, reporting platforms, data technologies, development workflows, model integrations, MCP-enabled data tools, and technology strategies that align with business objectives and the long-term vision of the company.

• Collaborate with Revenue Operations to enhance SDLC best practices for AI, data science, reporting, and analytics initiatives.

• Manage project timelines, scope, work estimates, dependencies, risks, resources, and delivery expectations for AI, reporting, data analysis, and associated software development projects.

• Set team goals, define performance expectations, utilize performance metrics and data analysis to guide decisions, and conduct performance management to foster accountability and effective execution.

• Mentor and develop team members through coaching, regular feedback, code reviews, knowledge sharing, performance management, career development support, and recruitment as the team expands.

• Collaborate with Product Owners and cross-functional stakeholders to outline business requirements, align technical work with business objectives, and translate customer, operational, and financial needs into actionable delivery plans.

• Establish consistent standards for data quality, metric definitions, documentation, access controls, reporting accuracy, and governance to create reliable business reporting.


⛳️ Requirements

• Post-secondary education in Computing Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Business Intelligence, Analytics, or a related discipline.

• Over 5 years of experience in software development, business intelligence, data science, or related technical roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity managing personnel, projects, processes, or technical delivery.

• Practical experience in delivering AI-enabled products, reporting platforms, business intelligence tools, data analysis solutions, or related technology projects, emphasizing quality, scalability, reliability, and timely delivery.

• Strong understanding of applied AI development and AI-assisted software delivery, including AI coding tools, LLM integrations, AI evaluation, agentic workflows, MCPs, or AI-native SDLC practices.

• Familiarity with leading AI platforms and tools, with the capability to assess their suitability for development workflows, product features, reporting, and business analysis.

• Demonstrated technical leadership abilities, including the capacity to guide architecture, system design, development, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement of secure and scalable software solutions.

• Strong SQL proficiency and experience with business intelligence tools, reporting solutions, data models, and analytical scripts.

• Experience with data warehousing, data modeling, reporting data pipelines, analytics engineering, semantic-layer design, or related business intelligence architecture.

• Knowledge of data analysis, data quality, KPI design, reporting accuracy, and the ability to translate complex data into clear and actionable insights.

• Capacity to build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with team members, stakeholders, and senior leadership to align technical work with organizational goals.

• Project and delivery management expertise, including the ability to own roadmaps, prioritize initiatives, manage scope, schedules, estimates, dependencies, risks, resources, and delivery expectations.

• Ability to evaluate and select platforms, tools, and technologies that align with business objectives, budgets, customer requirements, and technical feasibility.

• Strong business acumen and analytical judgment, with the capability to leverage metrics, performance data, and customer insights to inform decisions and drive accountability.
