This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia, +5 more states.
• Advocate for an automation-first approach; manual testing should be the exception rather than the norm.
• Design, develop, and expand automated testing frameworks for APIs, user interfaces, and comprehensive microservice validation utilizing Node.js, Playwright, and associated frameworks.
• Create load and resilience testing suites with Grafana k6 to evaluate and strengthen distributed systems.
• Seamlessly integrate test execution and quality gates into GitHub Actions, ensuring that every commit, pull request, and deployment is validated through automation.
• Work in close collaboration with MCPs: Kafka event flows, service mesh routing (Istio), and inter-service contracts to devise automated validation for message schemas, ACLs, and service dependencies.
• Simulate responses by mocking endpoints using tools like Microcks or Postman.
• Lead the adoption of Test-Driven Development (TDD) by integrating test scaffolds within developer workflows and upholding test coverage standards across repositories.
• Incorporate security testing and data validation checks into automation frameworks for proactive detection of vulnerabilities.
• Develop test observability dashboards (using Grafana or Datadog) that display quality metrics alongside performance and error budgets.
• Conduct exploratory testing to enhance automation with contextual discovery and validation of edge cases.
• Collaborate with developers, Site Reliability Engineers (SREs), and product managers to foster a shared understanding of quality across various environments.
• A minimum of 3 years of practical experience in constructing and maintaining automated test frameworks for microservices and web applications.
• Strong expertise in Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, or a comparable modern programming language.
• Proven experience in integrating tests into CI/CD systems; preferably with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
• Established history in load testing (Grafana k6) and performance evaluation at scale.
• Experience in validating MCP integrations, including message brokers (Kafka), service meshes (Istio), and REST/gRPC endpoints.
• Familiarity with Playwright or similar browser automation frameworks.
• Knowledge of TDD, security testing, and DevSecOps principles.
• Exceptional debugging, observability, and root-cause analysis capabilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
