Software Development Engineer in Test – Mobile

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver testing services to reduce software defects and enhance the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of Republic Services’ software solutions.

• Oversee comprehensive quality assurance for Web, Mobile, and other Application Portfolios through test automation.

• Design automated testing strategies and frameworks.

• Develop, test, and plan both manual and automated testing frameworks for intricate web and mobile applications.

• Mentor and guide Software Test Engineers in the domain of automated testing.

• Analyze product specifications and create test strategies, plans, and architectures.

• Lead formal evaluations of test plans, designs, and requirements in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

• Assess, research, develop, and propose testing tools and technologies.

• Create, troubleshoot, and sustain test automation for applications and services.

• Construct and uphold automated end-to-end integration test frameworks across various applications, devices, and platforms.

• Establish automation and testing coverage tools that support Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery.

• Evaluate interfaces between systems and applications, including web services and APIs.

• Monitor and prioritize defects throughout product releases and their lifecycles.

• Utilize quality control tools and metrics to pinpoint defects and suggest solutions.

• Plan, estimate, schedule, and carry out application testing alongside Agile and IT teams.

• Organize, document, and execute testing deliverables, plans, strategies, and scenarios.

• Ensure traceability of test cases to project requirements.

• Coordinate and assist user-acceptance test plans.

• Report and address complex issues in conjunction with Agile and IT teams.

• Conduct functional, system, regression, load, performance, integration, and manual testing as necessary.

• Collaborate with Software Test Engineers and Developers.

• Document and report testing metrics.

• Adhere to and update test documentation standards.

• Undertake other job-related responsibilities as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of software testing experience with a focus on test automation for web, mobile, database, or web services.

• Familiarity with software automation testing methodologies, including regression, functional, unit, integration, coverage, performance, and load testing.

• Experience testing applications that integrate with other systems via RESTful APIs.

• Proficiency with test management tools such as qTest, ALM, TFS, or similar platforms.

• Knowledge of API testing frameworks like Karate, Gatling, JMeter, or Postman.

• Some background in load and performance testing.

• Understanding of cloud platforms and services including Amazon AWS, Azure, Heroku, Perfecto Mobile, and SauceLabs.

• Experience in reviewing and providing feedback to team members during pull requests.

• Comprehension of Service Oriented Architecture.

• Strong critical thinking abilities.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Background in Agile software development methodology.

• Familiarity with tools like Rally, Jira, TFS, or ServiceNow.

• Strong expertise in JavaScript, C#, TypeScript, or other relevant programming languages.

• Advanced knowledge of open-source web frameworks such as Angular, Bootstrap, Node.js, and Express.

• In-depth understanding of web application testing tools including Selenium, Jasmine, Protractor, Cucumber, Appium, or Cypress.

• Familiarity with source control tools such as Git or Subversion.

• Candidates must be available for work during Arizona business hours (Mountain Standard Time) and participate in meetings and collaborations during those hours.
