Software Development Engineer in Test, I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• The SDET I at Fullbay works collaboratively with teams and ultimately takes on independent tasks to design, develop, execute, and maintain tests that ensure the quality and reliability of our software products and services.

• This position implements established testing practices and processes while cultivating expertise in quality engineering, software testing, and automation.

• Engages closely with Product and Development teams to pinpoint quality risks, validate functionality, and facilitate successful software delivery.

• Balances responsibilities between manual and automated testing while progressively enhancing technical knowledge, automation skills, and independence.

• Develops a deep understanding of customer workflows, software behavior, and quality engineering principles through hands-on experience, mentorship, and continuous learning.

• Takes part in release readiness initiatives, production validation, and post-deployment verification efforts to help guarantee successful software delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• Equivalent professional experience can be considered in place of a degree.

• 1-2 years of practical experience in software design, development, testing, or quality engineering.

• Proven capability to write, read, debug, and maintain code using Java, C#, or a similar modern programming language.

• Foundational knowledge of software development methodologies, testing principles, and quality assurance practices.

• Familiarity with or understanding of contemporary testing tools, automation frameworks, and quality engineering methodologies.

• Experience with automation frameworks and tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or similar technologies.

• Awareness of or hands-on experience with APIs and API testing concepts, including requests, responses, authentication, and validation techniques.

• Exposure to database technologies and data validation concepts, including SQL and NoSQL databases.

• Knowledge of or experience with cloud technologies and platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or similar environments.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development, testing, or productivity tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, ChatGPT, or similar technologies.

• Experience utilizing AI tools to assist in software development, learning, and testing activities is advantageous.

• Exposure to performance, load, or scalability testing concepts is a plus.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.

• Familiarity with project management and work tracking tools such as Jira, Xray, or similar platforms.

• A strong desire to learn and advance in software development, quality engineering, test planning, automation, execution, and analysis.
