Software Development Engineer in Test

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and execute automated functional health checks for disaster recovery (DR) and production settings utilizing synthetic transactions and API validation.

• Establish continuous validation pipelines that confirm end-to-end business processes, including authentication, transactions, and system integrations.

• Design intelligent alerting systems based on functional failures and customer-impacting behaviors, rather than relying solely on infrastructure metrics.

• Incorporate observability signals such as logs, metrics, and traces with automated testing frameworks to enhance system visibility and diagnosis.

• Develop AI/ML-driven methodologies to identify failure patterns, correlate issues across services, and determine likely root causes.

• Create systems that recommend or initiate automated remediation actions to facilitate early-stage self-healing capabilities.

• Collaborate across various teams, including QA, SRE, and Engineering, to enhance service reliability, incident response, and recovery preparedness.

• Define, assess, and report on functional service level agreements (SLAs), service health indicators, and quality metrics.

• Participate in disaster recovery drills, readiness exercises, and automated validation initiatives that bolster resilience over time.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in QA Automation, SDET, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Extensive experience in building and maintaining automated testing frameworks, including tools like Playwright, Jest, SuperTest, and REST API testing frameworks.

• Familiarity with cloud environments, with a preference for AWS.

• Knowledge of observability and monitoring platforms such as Datadog, New Relic, CloudWatch, Splunk, or comparable tools.

• Proficient programming skills in TypeScript, Python, Java, or related languages.

• Experience in designing comprehensive test strategies for distributed systems and environments resembling production conditions.

• Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting issues across application, infrastructure, and workflow layers.
