Software Development Engineer III – Backend

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.

• Create high-performance, reliable microservices for large-scale operations.

• Produce clean, efficient, and maintainable production-quality code.

• Develop reusable components and services while adhering to engineering best practices.

• Engage in technical design discussions and contribute to the system architecture.

• Optimize backend services for scalability, performance, and availability.

• Troubleshoot production issues and implement sustainable solutions.

• Enhance system reliability through monitoring, logging, testing, and observability.

• Participate in incident resolution and conduct root cause analysis.

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, QA, and fellow engineers to deliver features.

• Participate in code reviews.

• Share knowledge and work collaboratively with teammates on technical challenges.

• Contribute to the enhancement of engineering practices, testing, and SDLC processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of hands-on experience in backend software development.

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js.

• Significant experience with JavaScript, Go, Java, Python, C#, or similar backend technologies, with a willingness to work extensively with TypeScript and Node.js.

• Proven experience in designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices.

• Strong understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures.

• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, including schema design and query optimization.

• Knowledge of caching strategies, asynchronous processing, and message queues.

• Practical experience with Docker and containerized applications.

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and contemporary software development practices.

• Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana, Sentry, ELK, or similar.

• Strong grasp of software engineering principles, testing, and debugging techniques.

• Preferred: Experience with high-scale SaaS products.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Kafka, Redis, Elasticsearch, or similar distributed systems.

• Preferred: Experience in optimizing backend systems for performance and scalability.

• Preferred: Exposure to Kubernetes and cloud-native architectures.

• Preferred: Experience in Agile development environments.

• Ability to independently design, develop, test, and deploy scalable backend solutions.

• A passion for clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
