Software Development Engineer II, Full Stack – Business

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and implement innovative user experiences and backend services across our five business verticals, utilizing React, TypeScript, GraphQL, Node.js, and Java.

• Take full ownership of features from start to finish: plan, design, develop, deploy, assess, and iterate.

• Decompose complex engineering challenges into manageable tasks and deliver them within agreed timelines.

• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (Product, Design, Data, Business stakeholders) to conceptualize and implement new features.

• Contribute to A/B testing initiatives and leverage experimentation outcomes to inform decisions on product releases.

• Actively engage in code reviews, promoting best practices, testing standards, and edge-case management.

• Mentor and guide junior team members, new hires, and interns.

• Develop shared components, utilities, and services that enhance team productivity across the technology stack.

• Oversee and enhance runbooks, alerting, and monitoring for the features you deliver.

• Participate in a reasonable on-call rotation alongside your team.

• Utilize AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, and similar) to boost your daily development efficiency and code quality.

• Become a subject matter expert in one or more of the team's specialized areas.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of professional software engineering experience.

• Proven capability to manage the delivery of multiple features end-to-end (planning, designing, developing, and deploying) with high efficiency, including the ability to break down engineering challenges into actionable tasks.

• Strong coding proficiency across the entire stack:

• React, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and modern web tools; solid understanding of responsive design, performance, and cross-browser compatibility.

• Java and a foundational understanding of microservices and distributed systems principles.

• Experience in building and integrating with REST or GraphQL APIs.

• Solid understanding of data structures and object-oriented design principles.

• Practical experience with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar) in a real engineering environment, along with insights on their effectiveness.

• Adheres to good coding practices, writes appropriate tests, evaluates trade-offs, and proactively identifies edge cases.

• Comfortable both giving and receiving feedback during code reviews.

• A proactive approach to shipping, learning from production, and iterating swiftly.

• A strong desire and capability to learn continuously.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
