Software Development Engineer II – Frontend

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Develop and deploy commerce interfaces such as storefronts, checkout processes, catalogs, subscription management, invoices, and documentation.

• Integrate experiences utilizing module federation, iframes, and white-label hosts that maintain isolation, load efficiently, and degrade gracefully.

• Manage comprehensive performance budgets that encompass Core Web Vitals, bundle size, render costs, hydration, and main-thread activities.

• Assess performance within CI environments and uphold performance budgets.

• Create installable, offline-capable PWAs utilizing service workers, caching strategies, and background synchronization.

• Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards and provide full localization across various languages, currencies, tax and address formats, and RTL layouts.

• Equip the client with real-user monitoring capabilities and OpenTelemetry instrumentation.

• Collaborate effectively with Product Management and Design teams.

• Guide and mentor junior engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in building and maintaining production frontend applications.

• Extensive knowledge of Vue.js, including its reactivity model, component composition, rendering behavior, and runtime performance considerations.

• Proficient in using Lighthouse, Chrome DevTools, and performance profiling tools to identify, assess, and rectify regressions.

• Understanding of service workers and caching methodologies, including precaching, runtime caching, versioning, invalidation, and offline functionality.

• Experience in client state management and large-scale local caching solutions, such as TanStack Query or similar frameworks.

• Familiarity with accessibility semantics, focus management, keyboard navigation, screen reader functionality, and WCAG 2.2 AA guidelines.

• Experienced in internationalization/localization processes, including message extraction, pluralization, locale-aware currency/date formatting, and RTL support.

• Knowledgeable about modern frontend development tools and module federation, including Rspack and Vite; bundle analysis and code splitting techniques.

• Comfortable working with typed backend contracts using ConnectRPC/protobuf and understanding API contracts and potential error states.

• Strong debugging and problem-solving capabilities.

• Proficient in Vue.js, Rspack, Module Federation, TanStack Query, service workers/PWA, OpenTelemetry, Vite, ESLint, Go, ConnectRPC, Buf, GCP/GKE, and Pub/Sub.
