Software Development Engineer II – Conversations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and scale backend systems and frontend interfaces that enhance the Threads & Composer experience within HighLevel Conversations.

• Create and deploy Node.js/Go services that manage live production traffic.

• Take full ownership of services and components, encompassing coding, testing, deployment, and monitoring.

• Work with SQL and NoSQL databases by crafting queries and creating indexes.

• Implement and manage queues, caches, and rate limiters.

• Develop Vue 3 user interfaces that utilize owned APIs, ensuring clean components, effective state management, and real-time updates.

• Draft feature design documents and advocate for technical choices during reviews.

• Engage in the on-call rotation and troubleshoot production incidents.

• Collaborate on systems that handle billions of messages monthly across SMS, Email, WhatsApp, and direct messages.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of backend engineering experience, with a solid foundation in Node.js, Go, or a similar programming language.

• Familiarity with queues or asynchronous processing technologies, such as Pub/Sub, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or comparable systems.

• Knowledge of distributed systems principles, including idempotency, retries, and trade-offs regarding consistency.

• Practical experience with Redis or another caching/in-memory store.

• Proficient with SQL or NoSQL databases; capable of modeling data, writing optimized queries, and understanding indexing strategies.

• Expertise in Vue 3 or a comparable modern frontend framework.

• Experience with state management solutions like Pinia, Vuex, or their equivalents.

• A habit of writing tests and the capability to document design concepts clearly.

• Regular experience in coding with AI agents to produce accurate, tested, production-ready output.

• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.

• The technical environment includes Node.js/TypeScript, Go, Vue 3, Pinia, Vite, Tailwind, MongoDB, Firestore, Redis, ElasticSearch, ClickHouse, GCP, GKE, Pub/Sub, Cloud Tasks, GitHub Actions, Docker, and Kubernetes.
