This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design and lead internal Quality Programs: Implement engineering-wide process changes and ensure that teams adopt new reliability standards seamlessly.

• Develop SDLC observability pipelines: Utilize APIs from our existing tools (GitHub, Linear, GCP, Sentry, Grafana, incident.io) to gather, aggregate, and visualize engineering and quality telemetry.

• Establish and enforce key metrics: Create and automate reporting for Key Quality Indicators that reflect deployment health.

• Architect Shift-Left Pipeline Gates: Integrate automated Performance, Security, and Accessibility checks directly into the CI/CD pipeline.

• Conduct Real-World Load Testing: Advance load and performance testing early in the customer onboarding process.

• Engineer Synthetic Data & Production Canaries: Design the infrastructure for safe synthetic data injection.

• Utilize Generative AI Tooling: Effectively leverage AI assistants to expedite the development of testing frameworks.

• Lead Tooling Consolidation: Oversee the technical transition away from outdated testing infrastructure.

• Assist in defining and maintaining development practices: Facilitate rapid iteration while ensuring quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software development, with proficiency in one or more common programming languages (e.g., Python, Go), and comfort in navigating various technical systems and concerns.

• Experience working at a systems level with modern developer infrastructure and production telemetry, able to query, combine, and process data from tool APIs—our stack includes GitHub, Linear, GCP, Sentry, Grafana, and incident.io, but equivalents such as GitLab, Jira, or Datadog are equally valid. You have created the tools that make engineering health transparent.

• Personally implemented key quality metrics—such as Change Failure Rate, Deployment Frequency, Lead Time for Changes, Time to Restore, Regression Rate, Release Failure Rate, PR-failure rate, code review depth, or SLIs/SLOs and error budgets.

• Possess a strong product-oriented mindset, valuing outcomes over output, and eager to understand the rationale behind your creations.

• Experience in building and refactoring complex (often distributed) systems and familiarity with declarative infrastructure as code (IaC) deployment patterns.

• Proficient with public cloud platforms like GCP and/or AWS.

• Hands-on experience with load and performance testing tools (k6, Locust, Gatling, JMeter), including the safe handling of synthetic data.

• Familiarity with AI in testing tools and architecture, adept at constructing systems with AI agents as partners, and possessing strategies for verifying and validating AI-generated code.
