Software Developer, Compliance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Take ownership and continuously enhance a secure compliance pipeline for game and platform modifications.

• Advocate for released products and platform systems during evaluations by certification laboratories, ISO assessors, auditors, and regulatory bodies.

• Oversee the technical aspects of game certification, from math package assessment to laboratory submission and certification.

• Generate build hashes, PAR sheets, configuration snapshots, and version manifests.

• Independently address technical inquiries from labs.

• Ensure that certification deficiencies are resolved before games clear the pre-release threshold.

• Substitute manual evidence gathering, ad-hoc screenshots, and informal knowledge with engineered controls.

• Automate controls, enhance audit trails, and streamline the transition from ready-to-ship to auditor-ready.

• Acquire knowledge and document certification and evidence procedures.

• Prepare and deliver certification evidence packages.

• Compile evidence to respond to auditor or lab inquiries.

• Recognize high-friction steps in the pipeline and replace them with engineered controls.

• Document the ISO evidence framework and platform controls.

• Manage certification submissions, monitor deficiencies, and secure certificates.

• Approve compliance evidence at certification and pre-release checkpoints.

• Present a plan for ISO evidence hygiene and an initial SOC 2 control-gap strategy.

• Collaborate effectively with math, QA, platform, and SRE teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience writing production code.

• Comfortable analyzing and forming independent opinions on an existing codebase.

• Proficient in Node.js and TypeScript.

• Familiarity with game math packages, engine integration, rules and bets migrations, test suites, or compliance automation.

• Experience working for an iGaming game provider, lottery, or a similar organization where products necessitate certification.

• Proven ability to transform manual, high-stakes processes into engineered pipelines featuring automated evidence, versioned artifacts, and fail-closed gates.

• Capability to utilize SQL against a production analytics database.

• Experience in log investigation and understanding metrics pipelines.

• Ability to differentiate between a genuine control failure and a malfunctioning dashboard.

• Skill in accurately answering auditors' inquiries using the requested evidence.

• Competence in directing regulatory interpretation or commercial consequence inquiries to the Head of Compliance.

• Strong documentation skills that are clear and durable.

• Comfortable denying releases that do not meet the gate criteria.

• Meticulous attention to version numbers and audit trails.

• English proficiency is required on the application form.

• Must reside outside of the United States, Canada, or Australia.
