Software Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and implement software solutions that fulfill both business and non-functional requirements.

• Offer architectural frameworks, hands-on examples, and mentorship to development teams.

• Work alongside enterprise architecture and security teams to ensure adherence to emerging standards.

• Produce high-level product specifications and multi-tier design documentation.

• Identify root causes of intricate software problems and apply practical, effective, and lasting solutions.

• Stay updated on new technologies and vendor solutions, providing recommendations as necessary.

• Evaluate and test system designs.

• Ensure compliance with enterprise standards and advocate for necessary changes to those standards.

• Promote DevSecOps principles and the delivery of high-quality, secure code.

• Act as a subject-matter expert for both IT and business teams.

• Lead Joint Application Design sessions with cross-functional stakeholders as required.

• Drive consistency in architecture and enterprise-wide integration efforts.

• Mentor and guide engineering teams while fostering technical excellence, innovation, and best practices in software architecture.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent proven experience in addition to the minimum specified experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in technical leadership and software development.

• At least 2 years of experience in software architecture roles.

• A demonstrated history of success and proven experience in relevant professional projects or industries.

• Military service may be considered as a substitute for professional experience and/or formal educational qualifications.

• Extensive experience in designing, developing, and managing both cloud and traditional hosting infrastructure.

• Familiarity with high availability, performance, scale-out architecture, disaster recovery, and security architecture.

• Knowledge of cloud-based architecture, deployment, and operations, specifically for Azure and AWS.

• Capability to assess and analyze complex technological challenges and platforms.

• Proficient in JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, HTML5, CSS, CSS3, web programming, cross-browser compatibility, web UI design, security principles, object-oriented design, REST/SOAP web services, C#, .NET Core, MVC, MS SQL, microservices, Azure Function Apps, and message queuing.

• Experience in software development within an Agile/DevOps environment utilizing Microsoft Azure with CI/CD.

• Ability to collaborate with Product, Engineering, Program Management, Operations, and other stakeholders.

• Practical experience in developing and maintaining end-to-end solution process flows at both high and detailed levels.

• Experience in implementing event-driven or message-driven distributed architectures.

• Experience planning and delivering complex software releases in an Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• Leadership and mentoring experience with Software Engineers.

• Outstanding analytical, verbal, written, and presentation abilities.

• A consultative approach that bridges technological feasibility with business requirements.

• A valid driver’s license and proof of insurance may be required based on role responsibilities.

• Must be capable of lifting up to fifteen (15) pounds.
