Software and Data Quality Assurance Analyst I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate software applications against design specifications and user requirements through requirements traceability and a risk-based methodology.

• Create and implement functional, regression, manual, and automated software testing procedures.

• Assess test outcomes for precision, clarity, and thoroughness.

• Relay identified issues to QA and development teams.

• Examine requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Work alongside software developers to pinpoint, troubleshoot, and rectify defects.

• Engage in design reviews, functional walkthroughs, defect triage meetings, and customer acceptance testing.

• Assist in test planning, scheduling, and execution across application development initiatives.

• Aid in software deployment planning, implementation, and quality control processes.

• Facilitate change control procedures for development, quality, and production environments.

• Employ and continue advancing software testing best practices and methodologies.

• Report directly to the Manager of Software & Data Quality Assurance.

• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States; NCCPA will not sponsor or assume sponsorship of employment visas.

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.

• 1–3 years of experience in software development, research, product testing, quality assurance, or a comparable field.

• Capability to manage multiple projects while adhering to timelines and deadlines.

• Excellent organizational, time management, and communication abilities.

• Proficient at working independently and collaboratively within a team setting.

• A proactive stance on troubleshooting and problem-solving.

• Strong attention to detail coupled with an analytical mindset for identifying and addressing issues.

• Capacity to handle multiple priorities effectively.

• Clear and effective communication with QA, developers, and other stakeholders.

• Ability to work collaboratively while taking ownership of individual tasks.

• Perform effectively under time constraints and shifting priorities.

• A desire to continually enhance software testing knowledge and technical skills.

• Understanding of the software development lifecycle, Agile methodologies, and the Scrum framework.

• Familiarity with Transact-SQL queries and relational databases.

• Experience with defect-tracking tools or Microsoft Visual Studio tools.

• Knowledge of .NET, VB Script, C#, JavaScript, or Python.

• Familiarity with Selenium WebDriver.

• Experience in troubleshooting software installations or hardware issues, or providing software technical support.
