Social Security Disability Hearing Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct meetings with clients to evaluate their eligibility for SSI/SSDI benefits and discuss case specifics.

• Assist clients in accurately and thoroughly completing SSI/SSDI applications.

• Represent clients during appeal hearings in front of administrative law judges.

• Gather medical records, employment histories, and other pertinent supporting documents.

• Stay informed about SSA regulations and relevant case law.

• Serve as a liaison between clients and governmental bodies.

• Advocate on behalf of clients to ensure they receive the disability benefits they are entitled to.

• Manage caseloads effectively, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks efficiently.

• Must be licensed to practice law in at least one state.

• Documentation proving SSA authorization to represent disability claimants is essential.

• Significant experience and specialization in Social Security Disability law is preferred.

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in the field; attorneys with less experience or relevant pre-licensure experience will be considered as well.

• Demonstrated record of successfully representing clients at disability hearings and appeals.

• Strong litigation skills, including the ability to prepare and present compelling legal arguments, examine witnesses, and present evidence.

• Familiarity with medical terminology and the capability to interpret medical records and diagnostic tests.

• Proficient in legal research and writing.

• Strong client advocacy abilities.

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• Demonstrated empathy and compassion for clients facing physical or mental health challenges.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Effective time management and organizational capabilities.

• High ethical standards, professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.

• Must be tech-savvy.

• Reliable internet connection with a minimum of 100 Mbps download and 30 Mbps upload speed.

• Comfortable and productive home workspace.

• A backup plan in place for occasional internet interruptions.

• Experience with federal-level claims is an advantage.
