Social Media Manager – Instagram

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and oversee NORY’s Instagram presence.

• Create and manage a well-structured Instagram content calendar.

• Enhance follower count and engagement with a focus on community impact.

• Produce, film, and edit captivating Reels that highlight STEM programs.

• Optimize short-form videos for maximum reach, watch time, and viewer retention.

• Craft human-centered captions that connect NORY’s values to parents' concerns.

• Transform technical curriculum topics into accessible weekly stories.

• Design straightforward graphics and carousels that align with brand consistency.

• Monitor engagement metrics, saves, shares, and inquiries through direct messages.

• Analyze data trends and refine the content strategy accordingly.

• Serve as the main storyteller for NORY, a STEM camp provider for children in NYC and Boston.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated success in managing and expanding brand Instagram accounts, preferably within parenting, education, pediatric, or family-centered sectors.

• A portfolio showcasing advanced short-form video editing skills in Reels/TikTok formats, basic graphic design, and copywriting abilities.

• A strong, personable, engaging, and empathetic storytelling approach.

• A proactive, self-motivated mindset suitable for a fast-paced startup environment.

• Capability to receive feedback constructively and utilize data to inform decisions.

• Links to Instagram handles you have actively managed or public postings/Reels you have personally filmed and edited.

• Key performance metrics from previous social media successes.

• Availability for 10–20 hours per week.

• Preference for candidates located in the NYC area who can occasionally visit campsites.
