SMSF Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Prepare annual financial statements and tax returns for an expanding portfolio of SMSF clients.

• Collaborate closely with the Senior SMSF Accountant.

• Provide SMSF industry expertise to support the Customer Success team.

• Contribute to delivering an exceptional customer experience.

• Onboard new SMSF clients.

• Assist in Stake’s ongoing growth.

• Process SMSF accounting transactions and associated customer activities.

• Prepare and review workpapers.

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in reconciliations and data.

• Update workflow systems and ensure accurate file notes are maintained.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams throughout Stake.

⛳️ Requirements

• Three to five years of experience in SMSF administration.

• Proficiency in using Class accounting software.

• Strong communication skills and a willingness to engage with customers and internal stakeholders.

• Experience in processing bank reconciliations, term deposits, investment reconciliations, and member balances.

• Familiarity with processing contribution allocations, pension payments, rollovers, and benefit payments.

• Ability to prepare and review workpapers for thoroughness and accuracy.

• Skill in investigating and resolving discrepancies in reconciliations and data.

• Experience in processing corporate actions, such as dividends, dividend reinvestment plans, capital returns, mergers, demergers, and share restructures.

• Experience in managing complex transactions, including limited recourse borrowing arrangements, cryptocurrency, foreign investments, derivatives, and property investments.

• Capability to update workflow systems and maintain accurate file notes.

• Collaborative mindset when working with cross-functional teams.

• A Master’s degree in commerce or an MBA is preferred.
