This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Conduct prompt investigations, including recorded statements and interviews with claimants, witnesses, and employers.
• Provide regular status updates to both the case manager and the client.
• Document claim files in a clear, accurate, and timely manner.
• Uphold confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
• Develop suitable investigative action plans.
• Ensure the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of evidence while adhering to relevant laws, legal codes, and governing bodies.
• Supply claim adjusters with the results of investigations and document findings appropriately.
• Assess the need for additional evidence, including accident reports, scene reconstructions, witness statements, police reports, and expert opinions.
• Provide recommendations and make decisions regarding investigative efforts.
• Conduct detailed database queries and analyze as well as organize critical SIU investigation data.
• Evaluate state compliance referrals when questionable or suspicious activities are detected.
• Maintain active membership in professional organizations that offer SIU assistance and resources.
• Build and sustain relationships with law enforcement, government regulatory bodies, and insurance industry professionals.
• Significant experience with claims across various insurance lines, particularly in Workers’ Compensation claims.
• Strong investigative abilities.
• Detail-oriented approach.
• Capability to identify patterns of inconsistencies associated with fraudulent activities.
• Proficiency in interacting with clients, repair shops, appraisers, and employers.
• Ability to work independently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of tools and techniques relevant to insurance claims investigations.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
• Must possess a laptop computer, cell phone, audio recording device with download capabilities, digital camera, and tape measure.
• CFE or FCLS designations are preferred.
• 5–10 years of experience in claims and SIU investigations is preferred.
