This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oklahoma.
• Develop Site-Specific Safety Plans and Activity Hazard Analysis for projects within the assigned Business Unit.
• Ensure adherence to all Safety Policies and established Standards.
• Verify that personal protective equipment complies with relevant OSHA/EPA regulations and ensure employees are trained in its proper usage.
• Perform Safety Audits at designated project sites to confirm safe work practices and that occupational health is upheld.
• Conduct safety inspections on projects and follow up on any outstanding issues.
• Assess Subcontractor safety qualifications and participate in Pre-Construction Meetings.
• Create and evaluate activity hazard reviews.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with OSHA and Ameresco standards while conducting accident and incident investigations.
• Develop and implement Corrective Action Plans.
• Collaborate with project supervision to devise safety solutions for identified problems.
• Promote and sustain a positive safety culture among project personnel.
• Maintain all safety certifications mandated by contracts.
• Conduct quarterly safety meetings for Project Staff.
• Generate Safety Reports detailing activities undertaken.
• Foster a positive work environment by communicating and behaving in ways that encourage good relationships with customers, colleagues, supervisors, and management.
• Lead investigations into incidents and accidents.
• Perform additional duties as necessary.
• B.S. Degree in Occupational Safety & Health Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 5+ years of safety experience in the construction industry on comparable projects.
• An average of at least 24 hours of formal safety training annually for the last 5 years.
• Competent person status in at least four of the following areas: Excavation; Scaffolding; Fall protection; Hazardous energy; Confined space; Health hazard recognition, evaluation, and control of chemical, physical, and biological agents.
• EM385-1-1 40-Hr. Safety Certification as a Construction Health and Safety Technician.
• Current OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification.
• Current First Aid & CPR Certification.
• NFPA 70E certification for electrical safety training.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other essential computer skills.
• Organized, proactive, and demonstrated experience in OSHA Compliance.
• Exceptional writing skills with correct grammar.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently.
